So here I am again. I guess this is starting to look like something I’ll frequent often.
Today I decided to use this picture a dear friend of mine drew for me that came from an idea. In it there is a boy with a string tied to his wrist. The string leads to a face that is a balloon, a girl.
Ever wanted to keep someone close to you? Sometimes there are people in our lives that we never want to let more than three feet distance us from each other. Whether it be a friend, a family member or that dear loved one, there are those we always want to tie a string around keep them close forever and always. As I gaze at this picture I’m reminded more and more of people that I’ve tied that string around.
It’s a special connection when we can tie the string, let them float far far away and yet be able to pull them back to us in the end. Some strings rip, break or are cut over the course of time, and I guess that separates the real connections from the transient acquaintances we see ever day. There are few who I’ve tied a string to and at this moment I realize, more than ever, how much I cherish them for being my balloons through thick and thin, through the difficult points of life and most importantly through the nights when I’m alone with nothing but thoughts to keep me company.
Tie that string tight and no matter how far they may float, if they’re worth keeping, hold on. They’ll lift you off the ground and take you to the clouds.
